Do I need travel insurance? Yes, travel insurance is mandatory. You will need insurance that covers medical emergencies and transport, trip cancellation, travel changes, loss of property and luggage. We recommend a comprehensive coverage to ensure you're protected. Contact us if you need advice.

Best time for wind? May to October & November to March

Internet? Yes, there is free wireless internet available for you.

Water temperature? Around 26-28 degrees.

Do you need a wetsuit? No, but long sleeves can protect you from the sun.

Strength of wind? The wind is usually between 18-25 knots during the main season

Do I need booties? No, the ground is normally soft and booties are not necessary.

Is there a shop for basic items? There is a small store at our base camp, but be aware that you are in a tropical place with limited kite stores. In a nearby village you can get some basic items for daily personal care, but don't expect to find replacement parts for your gear.

Accommodation

Our luxurious resort is right on the shore of the famous lagoon of Kalpitiya, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, palm trees and with a magnificent pool. The very spacious bungalows have all air conditioned & ventilators, as well as all the necessary linen. The Villas bungalows also have a private pool and a back garden for your privacy and relaxation. Breakfasts, Lunches and Dinners are served in our hotel restaurant, next to the pool and with beautiful views to the lagoon and gardens. Staff is available at all times as well as room-service. Many activities such as Yoga, Surf, SUP, diving and many more are also available at the hotel.
