Do I need booties? No, the ground is normally soft and booties are not necessary.
Is there a shop for basic items? There is a small store at our base camp, but be aware that you are in a tropical place with limited kite stores. In a nearby village you can get some basic items for daily personal care, but don't expect to find replacement parts for your gear.
