Summary
Located in the path of the regular north-eastern trade winds, Fuerteventura offers perfect wind conditions for windsurfing and kiteboarding all year round. Weather: The average air temperature sits around 20°C year round, with little variation between summer (24°C) and winter (18°C), making Fuerteventura a perfect all year round beach and holiday destination with more than 300 days of sunshine per year. Wind conditions: Fuerteventura offers regular winds between 15-30 knots the whole year with the exception of the autumn months (September- November) where the wind dies down slightly before coming back full force in the winter. During the winter months on the East coast spots, the wind speeds vary. We recommend having a range of kites between 8-12m. The wind speeds on the West coast are very similar to the East, though can sometimes be gusty. In summer on both East and West coasts are windy enough for 7-8 m kites. Overall we recommend to have a 7, 9 and 12 to be fully covered. Water conditions: East coast: flat or small waves West Coast: Choppy and Big waves.
The Destination
The Experience
On the first night we will sleep in the Caleta Fuste marina. Here we will get together in a fantastic local restaurant to plan the coming week.
The plan for the week will depend on your kitesurf experience and wishes, weather forecasts and wave tides. We will choose the best areas to make the most enjoyable and unforgettable week of kitesurf holidays with friends or family.
The itinerary below is only a proposal and as open-minded as possible, to offer our guests as many options possible. The definite program will be the one you plan with your skipper on board, whether you want you vacation 100% kiteboarding or also including other activities- the trip is yours.
Getting There
The best place to start the journey is from the Caleta Fuste Marina- just 15 min away from Puerto del Rosario International Airport. There are direct economic charter flights to this airport from most European Cities with companies like Condor, Air Berlin, Ryan Air, Iberia, Thomson etc.
We will pick your group up from the Airport and transfer you directly to the marina.
The Team
Onboard will be one skipper that will be always take care of your comfort and security. They know the islands and kite spots inside out and master many watersports.
For example our main skipper Javi Diaz is IKO official kite board instructor and ex. national Spanish kite champion, as well as windsurfer, surfer, sailor, dive master ... (Thats what happens when you are born on the coast and you have passion for the sea...).
Kite lessons can be organised through the trip as well as gear rentals as needed.
