Rules and Conditions for School and Courses
Time and place of meeting:
The only starting time for lessons is 7.45 am (unless special agreements are made with Kite School), with cars already parked, breakfast done, any kite equipment ready for those who use their own during the course (with lines connected for launching from the boat).
For this reason it is advisable to arrive at least 15 minutes before, so no later than 7.30 am.
The meeting place is at the Kite School headquarters in Piazza Arrighini in Campione del Garda (where there is the mini market, and Cuba Cafè bar). It is advisable to always leave early, considering that the Garda area is a tourist area with intense traffic, especially on weekends and holiday periods. For those arriving from the south passing from Brescia (Brescia est tollgate) the journey time is approximately 1 hour (without traffic). If for any reason a different time is set, the late morning traffic increases considerably in the lake area, so it is good to also consider 1.5 hours from Brescia.
Winds and duration of lessons:
On the Garda there are 2 types of winds: PELER wind that blows from North to South and rises at 8.00 and lasts on average until 11.00 with an intensity from 15 to 25 knots and the hour that blows from south to north and can rise from 1.00 pm onwards (sometimes even at 15.00) until late afternoon around 5.00 pm - 6.00 pm with an average intensity from 15 to 20 knots.
The kite lesson in water lasts 1 hour per student, even if it is intended as an integral part of the practical lesson when the other students are in the water and the part in which is practiced on the beach for the preparation of the equipment. There is not always wind both morning and afternoon. For this reason in case of no wind in the morning the lesson is moved to 1.00 pm and time is used in the morning for possible in-depth analysis of theory or practice on the beach.
Kite lessons:
Since the beach is not wide enough, kitesurfing lessons on all of Lake Garda are carried out completely by boat (rubber dinghies
school). For this reason a good part of the course takes place on boats, often waiting for the wind also part of the theory. Our lessons take place in groups of up to 3 people per boat and per instructor. Students enter the water and are followed individually one by one by the instructor thus guaranteeing high quality and a high standard of education. In this way the student will be able to learn by observing the other students of course that will be indicatively at the same level.
What to bring:
We recommend wetsuits in April, May, June, and October with a thickness of at least 4-5 mm integral. In July and August a 3 mm wetsuit is enough whole wheat. In the absence of your own wetsuit we will provide you with one from the school. It is always advisable to have a wind or windproof jacket for waiting on the boat. You we also recommend bringing a towel, a slip-on costume to keep under the wetsuit, flip-flops and water to take in the boat for longer periods warm. Before dressing with a wetsuit for the start of the lesson, we recommend using the toilet in school.
Payment:
First deposit 15% when you book the services to Bstoked. Second deposit 35% a few days after booking directly to the Host. The balance of the course / lesson must be paid in the morning the first day, entirely before the start of the lesson (s). In school we accept cash payments, with credit card or debit card.
Where to park cars:
Campione del Garda is a tourist village and therefore with the continuous presence of traffic auxiliaries in the season to check for possible infringements. For the tourists there are two possibilities to park. The first is a parking disc in the few parking lots available in the northern part of the country. For a longer stay of 1 hour it is advisable to park in the public unpaved car park located in the center of the village near the church. Parking is subject to charge coin-operated parking meter, it is advisable to give a few euros in cash.
Cancellation and weather conditions:
All courses must be booked in advance. The cancellation of the course, even partial, after the beginning of the course, will not lead to any discount, credit or refund of any kind. The “time” not used in the lesson will be recovered on a date to be established with the instructor. In case the course cannot be completed in the current season, not it can be recovered later, in any case there is no reimbursement. Lessons are always confirmed by Kite School also with substandard weather and wind forecasts, weather decisions are taken exclusively by Kite School. Campione del Garda is among the windiest kitesurfing spots in Europe with wind statistics of over 300 days a year. Wind is also often present when there is no high pressure (good weather). Lake Garda has a particular microclimate that often protects it from rain and disturbances, for this reason often winds without precipitation even in the absence of sun. Most national and local weather sites do not work for the high Lake Garda, which as mentioned thanks to its particular morphology remains repaired. Only on the day of the course, if there is no wind, the lesson will come rescheduled to new date.
